And now, it is time for me to tell you of [/i]YOUNG NASTY MAN...
(lol I need a better picture)
Name:
It really depends on who happens to be being impersonated at the time. He tends to answer to Godigen regardless of whom or what he happens to be at the moment, however.
Nicknames/Titles:
Again, it depends. As a human, he usually just goes by Crowe.
Age:
Thirty-seven; appearance depends.
Gender:
Technically, he's a hermaphrodite. He usually identifies as and appears to be male, however.
Race/Species:
Godigen is a doppelganger; a gelatinous, boneless, but somewhat humanoid grey creature by default that is capable of mimicking the form of anything it sees. When he isn't required to be anything in particular though, he typically takes the form of a human male in his early twenties for the sake of blending in.
Sexual Orientation:
Pansexual, sort of; he doesn't have the greatest understanding of the social demands that come with what you have in your pants, nor does he really care. Though given that he has a mild repulsion to fleshbags, he's more of an asexual than anything.
Occupation:
Full time bandit, part time informant.
Class:
Lower Class
Marital Status:
Lol who would want him Single.
Belongings:
He doesn't really have anything more than the clothes on his back, save for a well-used dagger of dwarven make and a crudely stitched leather bag containing... books. One is an old journal containing notes of his travels and various sketches of people and things, the others are volumes on various topics. These change from time to time whenever he can get into a town to sell the books he's read to make space for new ones.
Physical Description:
In his natural state, Godigen is a vaguely human-shaped blob of some dull grey, porous substance. Muscles are ill-defined through the thin layer of translucent 'skin' that keeps his form in check, his limbs long and too sickeningly thin to be human. Aside from the crop of white (though still somewhat liquid in appearance) hair and the existence of eyes (blank though they are) there is nothing in his bony looking form that looks even remotely natural. It should also be noted that he is incapable of speech and most of his senses, save for touch, are dulled in his natural form due to the lack of properly formed apparatuses to serve the function.
When masquerading as a human, however (Bleh I'll finish it later)
Overall personality:
In a nutshell, everything Godigen does, and ever will do, is not out of malice; rather, it's simply for his own amusement. He robs and pillages for the challenge in it; he manipulates for the sake of watching it pan out. Everything is a game or a social experiment with him. It could be said that he's immoral in that belief, though most of the human species hasn't done the best job of leading him to believe his reasoning is wrong.
Though he comes off as being arrogant and a bit of an attention whore at times, Godigan is a reasonably civil (if not a little awkward) being should someone actually choose to speak with him. However, when associations begin to stray into his personal life, he has a habit of attempting to escape before certain, more... unsavory details are discovered. After all, experimentation becomes difficult if you become too attached to the subjects, or if they should happen to become aware of it.
He thus has a bit of trouble building and maintaining relationships, out of the constant fear and paranoia associated with what follows being discovered for what he is. Though he would never admit to it, he thrives on the acceptance of others, but he doesn't quite have a grasp on how to get it. And so the experimentation continues, testing what works and what doesn't.
Likes:
- Reading
- 'Permanently borrowing' various objects
- Being outdoors
- The unknown
- Pigeons
- Music of any sort
Dislikes:
- Pretty much every other species in Ellar. (Though they make fascinating test subjects)
- Water
- Being stuck in one form for too long
- Large cities
- Noblemen
- Gruel (It, for some reason, makes him feel cannibalistic)
Strengths:
- Physically, he's capable of changing his form into absolutely anything and everything. This comes with a few requirements, however; in order to change into something, he must have a clear idea in his mind what it is. This usually entails looking directly at an object, or having done it so many times that he could likely do and maintain it in his sleep. However, a lot of this process is down to very minute details, such as the textures of the object, the way it moves in the wind, thickness, weight... everything needs to be considered. Otherwise, it will either look very obviously unrealistic (and forever torment his perfectionist soul), or just generally awkward and gawky. Secondly, the process of change requires practically rearranging every cell in his body, and though he's naturally capable of doing this quickly, it still takes several minutes at best to go from one form to another.
- Having no bones means nothing to break. Having nothing to break makes him naturally a bit more hardy than most creatures, though he isn't immune to pain or death.
- As a professional rogue of sorts, he's actually very good at what he does. His natural flexibility certainly lends something to his swordplay and stealth, at least.
- His species doesn't require a whole lot in the means of necessities. He only requires about four hours of 'sleep' per night (though it's more akin to a deep trance), a state that if he remains in, he can usually fast for long periods of time (like, years). If he's expending energy in some way or becomes injured, however, he'll likely require more sustenance than usual.
Weaknesses:
- Conversation-wise, Godigen is almost impossibly tactless and nearly devoid of any form of natural charm. This tends to work against him when he's disguised as other people, as often times, he isn't exactly sure how to properly act as them. His etiquette in general could also use some work.
- Having no bones, though with its benefits, also means he has no real structure inside of him. Thus, certain forms of contact will make it more difficult to hold his form. For example, hugging him too tightly would probably result in his weight unnaturally distributing itself heavily towards his lower half or up past his shoulders until he can re-adjust himself.
- He's a bit of a coward. If he's not liking how things are turning out, he's going to find a way to worm his way out of it.
- If he stays in a particular form for too long, he may become 'stuck' and find himself unable to morph, regardless of what happens. Correcting this regularly takes at least seven or eight months or so.
- Due to using his abilities more for physical use, his mental capacities for magic are very limited compared to what would be expected of a species that primarily communicates through telepathy. He's about as talented as your average peasant.
- Changing forms has no effect on his skills, no matter what he becomes. For example, Godigen would have the same amount of strength as a human as he would as a dragon.
Quirks:
- If he becomes surprised, frightened, or particularly excited by something, he tends to forget whatever he was doing at the moment... including maintaining his form. He may seem to 'melt' a bit back into his natural form before he realizes what's going on and corrects himself.
- If he gets angry about something while in a humanoid form, he tends to puff out his cheeks a bit.
- He tends to poke his tongue out of the side of his mouth a little when he's focusing particularly hard on something.
- If he's in a good mood, he might hum while he works. Situation doesn't seem to have much of an effect on this; he could be robbing someone's home in the middle of the night and still be humming quietly to himself. Once or twice he's even broken out into song, but that's thankfully a rarer occurrence.
Fears:
- Deep water; mostly because he can't swim. Typically the shock of having nothing beneath him is enough to return him to his true form, which...usually just makes things even worse.
- Rainbows. Yes, rainbows. They make him cry.
- Being discovered. Though it would be an easy enough solution to transform into something else and be done with it, being labelled a monster and stringing paranoia about usually means having to change location before anybody does anything rash.
Secrets:
His natural form would likely count for one. Otherwise... He's really very open about himself.
Mother:
?
Father:
?
Siblings:
Crowe (Deceased)- They weren't related by blood, per se, but the young cutpurse was the closest thing to family that Godigen has ever had. He'd always aspired to go down in history as a master thief, but after his unfortunate demise twenty years ago, the doppelganger had borrowed his identity to achieve that end for him.
Pets:
Lady Flappington - A slightly overweight messenger pigeon that can occasionally be seen following Godigen about town. He doesn't really own 'her', but as he keeps feeding the bloody birds, they tend to stick around wherever he is. It's unsure if it's just one pigeon or actually one of several that happens to live in the area.
Other:
Any other relationships your character has with someone.

Hi, my chat account is nonexistent. But I go by Rhythm.
I am an old, old woman, and I've been role-playing for... Mmm... Six or seven years, I suppose?
We request that you do a role-play sample for your first character, preferably using that character. It goes on your bio. Any other samples you give for any other characters except your first is optional.
And now, it is time for me to tell you of [/i]YOUNG NASTY MAN...
I am everything that is.
