Please try to spell everything correctly and use proper grammar. We are human, we all make mistakes. However, peoboards provides a spell check. As long as it appears that you are making an effort, we're all happy.
Please be respectful to all admins, members, and guests. You don't have to like someone to get along with them. You really don't. However, please don't allow this dislike to cloud your judgement and say something rude. And, trust me, there is a difference between being intentionally rude and unintentionally rude. If anyone says anything rude or something that others may think is rude, alert the mods. Please. Alerting us makes it easier to warn against it and stop people from being offended.
No spam. Just don't do it. We want this place to be nice and clean and orderly not LOK AT MY PUPY. Sure, you can make threads where people can look at your puppy. Just don't do anything stupid and post this thread fifty times. It makes more work for the admins, and it makes other members unhappy.
We allow you to have one chatting account. This account is for all ooc posts, such as in the Questions and Ideas threads or in The Bulletin Board. In some cases you will be allowed to post in the market threads in your ooc account, though this is only if you want graphics.
All other posts, such as in the role-play threads, must be posted with a character account; one account per character. Please make sure you are using the correct account before you post. This is for several reasons. This is a fully life based role-play, so any currency you have on an account can be used to buy things from NPCs and other characters in the role-play. Chances are your characters won't interact with each other in an role-plays, so we will be hesitant to move some money from one role-play account to another of your role-play accounts. However, we will move money from your chatting account to a role-play account. There will be a thread dedicated to transferring money from account to account and that is where you request it.
Expanding on the one account per character rule, the account name should be the name of the character. It is ideal that the first and last names be used, but not all characters and creatures will have a full name. This is fine, just use as much of the name as possible. If you need any help with names or the like, post a thread in the Questions and Ideas section and someone will help you.
One last thing, which I know this is getting tiresome. You must have a banner with a link to that character's bio in your signature. Have all your internet references in the signature to your chat account; the signature of each character account is reserved for this link to your finished bio. These banners don't have to be big and can be designed however you want.
In other words, make a new account when you want to make a new character. Post your bio using that account, and have some sort of a banner to link to that bio once it has been accepted by an admin.
A play-by is optional. Unless the character is animal like, all play-bys must be real people. You must credit the play-by and, if you can find out, who took the picture. Any pictures of animals you use, you must credit the artist and ask for permission to use their art. This is just common courtesy. Staff will trust you, since we believe that everyone is a good person. However, you still must credit. Any picture not credited correctly will be taken down by a staff member. Remember, google and photobucket are not valid sources, artists, or photographers.
On the note of role-playing, everyone frowns upon god-moding, power-playing, and perfect characters. Characters must be approved by an admin (usually by Jig or I, or both). That means there is little chance of your character coming out to be super powerful or perfect. This cannot change. We do allow minor changes to your bio, but you should not change any major things.
Any power-playing and god-moding will get you a warning. It's not fun to role-play with someone who cheats, just like it isn't fun to play cards with a sore loser or someone who takes every opportunity to point out that you're losing.
This site has a PG-13 rating. You may allude to things that are rated more than PG-13, but not outright mention them or do them. This includes anything sexual.
Violence and language will happen, though keep in mind the PG-13 rating. Dropping the F bomb every two words is not PG-13. Saying, in incredible detail, how you gutted a deer is not PG-13.
PM is your friend. Fading to black on the boards and continuing over PM is acceptable.
